final essay

I'm taking British Literature. this is a good class because my teacher is so nice with us. she wants us to improve in our life and graduate from high school. this class is a little bit easy but i have missed some assignments, and that lowered my grade. The first day we started this class, all of us had an "A" but later the student started getting a low grade because they didn't do what they suppose to do. I have missed some assignments which are: the essay, the persuasive essay, and some homework that i did not turn in. Thats why i have a "C" in this class. I used to have a "F" but then i started making up my work because i didn't want to fail this class. The assignment that i did well on, was the Constitution of Los Angeles, i did well on that assignment because i think my teacher liked it when she was reading it. She gave me a sticker for that and i felt happy because i knew i had done  something good. Also the assignment that i did well on, was in my folder, i decided to organize all the papers that i had done during this semester. I organized my folder from the first assignment we did trough the last one we did.

I think i did well during this semester because i always tried to do my best in all the assignments. We did a lot of different thinks in this class. We were using the British Literature book, its a purple book, and its really big. We read some stories, but actually we learned more about Poets. We learned what Romanticism was. Also we did a poster in groups about a romantic poet, and we did a presentation about him. I had a good experience in this class because i learned a lot of romantic poets. Moreover, we did reflections, cornel notes, and double entry journals. Later i fell from a "C" to "F" because i missed around four days, it affected my grade because i had missed a lot of assignments. Therefore, u started making up my missing work. It was hard because i had to do a lot of things at the same time. I wasnt sure if i was gonna made it but i did. I have a "C" now but i would try to get a "B" at least.

i would like to have a "B" in this class because i almost have done all my work and i did the best i could to have 100% in each assignment but thinks were getting worst when my teachers from other classes gave me homework because i did not have enough time to do my late work from this class. thats why i couldnt do all of them. I know that i have to do it if i want to get a higher grade. so i wish i have more time to finish my other assignments. Many students dont care about it but i really do, because its my grade and it could affect me in the future, especially in college, they dont accept people when they have "D" and i do want to go to college. so i will do my best to get a higher grade.

this class will benefit on my life because this class helps me to improve in my reading and writing skills. it is important to know how to write and read perfectly because in college classes ae more difficult. this class is really important because i need to pass it in order to graduate from High schools.

Los Angeles Conditions

Los Angeles has been one of the most dangerous cities in California. But it also has been one of the most important cities in California because people have more opportunities in Los Angeles. so it has good and bad conditions. the majority of teenagers are involved in drugs, gangs, and other bad things, like tagging, robbery, and crimes. Those conflicts give a bad look to Los Angeles because sometime innocent people pay for that others do. Therefore people are afraid of of being on the streets late because they know they are not safe enough, especially young ladies they could be violated. it is also dangerous for others because gangs normally fight each other for their neighbors and people pay for it. thats why Los Angeles Police Department tries to keep this city protected. Actually they have a lot of different units. There is one called Gang Unit that focus only in gang members  but its impossible to keep this city protected because its a big city and people never know what would happen to them on the streets. this gives a bad aspect to Los Angeles because we dont have a safety community. this is a really bad condition because there is noway to fix this problem.

Los Angeles has good conditions too because here are a lot of opportunities especially people who live in poverty. the good thing is that the government o this state provides them food and health for those who need it. it also gives them an opportunity to work. los angeles provides a lot of programs in which people can apply. for example food stamps , medicine, and education for teenagers. many people who live a bad conditions apply to these programs. sometimes when they get sick and they dont have money they have the chance to apply for free medicine. this is good because these programs help people when they need it. los angeles also gives the opportunity to students to get scholarships for their education. What i like about that is that they help student to reach their goals.

Los Angeles is one of the most popular cities in California because not all cities provide what Los Angeles provides. but it also one of the most dangerous cities but i think the government should do something about this because that way the conditions of Los Angeles would improve and people would be safe.

Academic Autobiographic

My name is Daniel Medina. i was born in Los Angeles but i grew up in Guatemala with my parents. I went to school over there. Then I came back here to Los Angeles when i was 14 years old. i went to John Muir Middle School. in 2007 i graduated from there. Then I started High School. i went to Manual Arts for a year because after a year my mom and i moved to New York with my brother. We were there for around 4 months. After 4 months we moved to Arkansas with my uncle and my cousins. I went to school over there. The name of the school is Paragould High School. I felt weird in that school because i was the only Hispanic in my class, so  i didn't adapt to that school. My mom and  i were only around 8 months over there because it was so boring; it was like a farm, there were no city nor buses. Thats why i told my mom that i wanted to come back to Los Angeles because here i can go where ever i want and there are more opportunities of jobs over here. So we came back and i was living in Highland Park, and i went to Benjamin Franklin H.S. for a year. i liked that school because i met a lot of people over there. Then we moved to this area and i started attending to this school. This is a good school and i like it but i don't feel comfortable because this is my last year and moving from places had affected in my grades. If i wouldn't move to this school i would had graduated a year before but now i have to make up some classes. so i decided to stay in this school because i want to graduate on  time.

After High School I'm planning to go to a community college but i haven't decided which one yet. but i need to find a job before because i need to earn money for college. I havent decided which college to attend but i already know know what i want to study for. i want to study Criminal Justice because i want to be part of Bomb Squat unit but for getting to that position i need to become a police officer first. i need to be a police officer at least 5 years before to promete for Bomb Squat Unit. i already did my first step  which is becoming part of the LAPD Cadets. I will graduate from there when i turn 21 years old. then i will apply to the Police Academy for 6 months. The good thing is that im gonna get pay while im going there. After that i wait five years to join the Metropolitan Unit and promote for Bomb Squat Unit. thats the way im planning to reach my goals. it seems easy but the training is really hard so i will do my best to get to that position.
